The college was started in 2007 with the blessings of Mailam Sri Murugan and the patronage of his Holiness, the 19th Peedathipathi Srila Sri Sivagnana Balaya Swamigal. "Kumarasamy Educational Trust" is running the Institution under the blessings and guidance of the present 20th Peedathipathi Srila Sri Sivagnana Balaya Swamigal.
The College campus is situated at Bommayapalayam which is about 13 km from the Railway Station and 14 km from Pondicherry Main Bus Stand and is near to the Pondicherry University. It is about 130 km south of Chennai (Madras) on the shores of Bay of Bengal.
The campus is well connected by town buses and route buses plying between Pondicherry and Kalapet.
The college is affiliated to Annamalai University and recognized by UGC. The college offers UG and PG programs in Arts, Science and Commerce disciplines, providing quality education to women from rural and semi-urban backgrounds at an affordable cost.
